votive plaques/ema/絵馬

I wanted to start off this Columbia section with a parallel image to my last Japan one. The Columbia Japan Society held a Matsuri in April, and one of the booths they offered was the opportunity to write your wishes up on ema, similar to the ones you saw yesterday. I thought these two wishes were beautiful. Especially the left one, since a student recently died.


I'll be officially back on the 26th. :)

It's now the 25th I'm writing this, sorry not to have commented earlier, it's not easy job to maintain two blogs :). In Eurpe we don't know this kind of wishes, but I really appreciate is and I'm so sorry about this student who passed away, I experienced this a couple of times at our school, it's very sad.
