With this photo, I end the ridiculously long Taiwan/Japan series. I didn't realize it would be this long. I'd like to use this photo as a transition into the photos of the Columbia University Matsuri that I took, and from then on, to the five billion photos I've taken at Columbia. Not to worry, not all five billion are going up. :)

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. - Albert Einstein
Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. - Shawshank Redemption
We walk through our lives so focused on our daily tasks and griefs. It's important to realize that there is always hope, because without fail, there will always be a touch of color - in a hazy shade of winter.

In our church we have a book and we can write down our intentions for prayer: people in need, exams to pass, loved ones who died, etc. I think when writing down such a need has an effect, though I cannot tell in words what effect it has. I see also on this sensitive picture the same human inclination to write down things like these, in hope of fulfillment or simply because one is concerned. Writing down hàs an effect indeed!

Very nice shot of the Ema; I've tried several times but most of my attempts of photographing Ema turned out to be disappointments so I know what you achieved ^_^;;

A good shot to choose to end this chapter. Apologies for not visiting lately, I have been living on my boat, which doesn't have internet access, so can only get on the net about once a week.

@tyan: Sort of, people write down their hopes and wishes and hang them up. The belief is that they will come true. :) This will be more apparent with tomorrow's image.
so cool. Composition of this shot is right on. There are so many of them too. I really like this idea of writing things down like that.
