三段壁/Sandan-peki rock cliffPosted by e. (New York, NY, United States) on 20 April 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Also in Shirahama are the Sandan-peki cliffs. With an average height of 50m ranging along about 2km of seashore, the cliffs also hide caverns that were once rumored to hide pirates. As you wander around the caverns, you can still see the remains of their habitations. You can see the tiny dots of people on the cliffs. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are only two ways to live your life. Betty from New Jersey, United StatesNice shot, didn't notice the people until I read your comment! 20 Apr 2008 10:54am Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsVery impressive, I didnt see then either! I hope they put firm fences to prevent falling or worse. I think the cliffs have been caused by earthquakes because they are vertically steep and you can still notice the earth layers. It doesn't look like erosion. 20 Apr 2008 7:17pm Craig from Vacaville, California, United StatesVery interesting geology! Great shot! 20 Apr 2008 7:29pm MJ from Delaware, United Statesbeautiful scene...
