lost in greyPosted by e. (New York, NY, United States) on 10 April 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. The day we arrived in Japan, it was incredible foggy and miserable. On the bus leaving the Osaka Airport, I was snapped off this shot of the sea. The horizon is there, I promise you, it's just impossible to tell where it is because the day was so incredible grey. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are only two ways to live your life. Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaGreat title which sums up well the immensity of the sea and sky and the smallness of the ship! 10 Apr 2008 5:59am Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsA picture full of spleen and melancholy, one wants to be on the ship to sail away from the misty misery :). Great picture taken from the plane. I remember the time I came back from Finland and we flied over windmills and lighthouses before landing on Amsterdam Airport, but had no camera with me :(. BTW good shot because it's gone before you realize! 10 Apr 2008 6:26am Lorraine from Gatineau, CanadaWow e, I wouldn't mind getting lost in this image ;) 10 Apr 2008 11:02am tyan from Singapore, Singaporeoh yes i can see what you mean.you cant really see the line right..but its an interesting shot, made me a bit melancholic looking at it cos its so grey!:) 10 Apr 2008 2:48pm GJC from Kyoto, JapanA very powerful shot. I've seen it often arriving in Osaka airport, as you describe, and you've captured it very well by choosing to include the boat. 10 Apr 2008 9:18pm baobab from Cambridge, United Statesthat's cool - the invisible horizon makes the scene feel somehow infinite. nice composition with the diagonal line and ripples and vignetting all drawing the eye to the boat. 11 Apr 2008 12:22am |
