poisedPosted by e. (New York, NY, United States) on 4 April 2008 in Art & Design and Portfolio. I apologize for the slight dirtiness to this photo. The carving was in a glass case especially devoted to it. What you see is only the top half of the work. It's actually very long and tall. It was so beautiful, that I decided to take a photo of it, despite the case, although the spots have been greatly diminished thanks to Anne's advice. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are only two ways to live your life. Michael Skorulski from Cigel, SlovakiaA fantastic carving. The person who did that was very talented! 4 Apr 2008 6:05am @fairuz: Oh I wish. :( But they're really expensive. *sigh* Anne from White Rock, CanadaIts a wonderful carving to post, as are the previous two! Great photos e! I think you could probably clean up the spots with a clone brush - as I always have to do when I scan photos - they always manage to have enlarged dust spots on them. It's a bit of tedious work - but worth it to rescue an otherwise beautiful photograph ;-) 4 Apr 2008 7:09am @Anne: Oh wow, it makes a huge difference! I didn't have the patience to touch up some of the finer details, but for the big spots, I'm really astounded at how much of a difference it makes. Thank you! Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsOne gets a good idea of the craftmanship of the artist! It reminds me also of the beautifully carved carrots you get on your dish in Chinese restaurants, in the shape of roses. 4 Apr 2008 10:58am @Illuci: I actually know how to make those. :) It's a lot easier than you think. Photonscribbles from Pune, Indiai ve always loved anykinda handicraft... 4 Apr 2008 11:02am Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesHard work captured nicely. Totally understand not having optimal photo opportunity, however i think you did just fine. 4 Apr 2008 12:22pm MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomYou did a brilliant job e, the details of this beautiful carving are outstanding. 4 Apr 2008 2:49pm standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceWonderful capture. You did a great job here! 4 Apr 2008 6:56pm Rags from Plano, United Statesthat is a work of art! I wonder how much it would go for here in the US 4 Apr 2008 9:52pm @Rags: A lot. What with the shipping, and then the extreme mark-up that will inevitably happen... |
