hopes and dreamsPosted by e. (New York, NY, United States) on 22 March 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture. We went to go visit the famous Wen Wu Temple, which actually turned out to be really disappointing for me. I think one of the charms of temples is to see the old art and architecture. This one, however, was so modern, and the paint was way too bright. Therefore, I'm not going to put up any photos of it. Next to the Temple, however, were lots of stairs going down to the Lake (since the Temple is on a hill). All along the stairs on both sides were hung these charms that represented the hopes and dreams of those who had come before me. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are only two ways to live your life. GJC from Kyoto, JapanSorry the temple was a disappointment (boy, do I know the feeling!) but you still got a wonderful image, very suggestive of the mass of our hopes and dreams as a collective. Well seen. 22 Mar 2008 11:27am Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsWonderful colors, silver and red combined very well Did you add your hope and dream as well? 22 Mar 2008 11:28am timothy sullivan from tokyo, Japanyeah.. i hear the disappointment thing... but i dont think it was an experience wasted at all. 22 Mar 2008 1:54pm Elle from Sydney, AustraliaWow I really like the effect of the non-focused objects. I hope you understand what I'm talking about. Haha I'm sorry I'm real bad at explaining. But, I love this shot! :) 22 Mar 2008 2:09pm Michael Rawluk from Prince George, CanadaI love blogs because we get to see wonderful photographs and learn something as well. Thanks for this. 22 Mar 2008 4:54pm Michael from Wuppertal, GermanyNice shot and colours, thank you sharing the shot and the useful info! 22 Mar 2008 9:07pm standley from brou-sur-chantereine, FranceThis is wonderful. Great DOF exercise! 22 Mar 2008 9:27pm Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesThe DoF is FAB - it really makes such a sweet image. 22 Mar 2008 11:45pm Howard F. from South Pasadena, Calif., United StatesI am currently in Taiwan. Though your picture was taken a few months back, I think it suits the mood of Taiwan today- many people got their hopes and dreams fullfilled (and broken) today with the election result. Anyway, beautiful depth and color. 23 Mar 2008 12:15am bronzebilly u.k. from Barry,Vale of Glamorgan, United KingdomHey e. ..Great measurement on the d.o.f ,pal..it really gives a sense of scale..great colours also,pal..nice one.. 23 Mar 2008 1:33am Rags from Plano, United Statesreally cool DOF. But you sure salvaged a great shot here and the shallow DoF has really made it special. 23 Mar 2008 10:04pm drphoto from Newcastle upon Tyne, United KingdomCool shot, great composition and DOF. Dan 26 Mar 2008 6:19pm Japanalia from Yokohama, JapanYou may not have liked the temple, but the location gave you the chance to shoot this one very interesting image. The perspective goes down in a blurr creating a most attractive illlusion of colours and shapes. 28 Mar 2008 5:28am |
