tears of a goddessPosted by e. (New York, NY, United States) on 9 February 2008 in Art & Design. This is the Kuan-Yin, otherwise known as Kannon in Japanese, a buddha associated with fertility, care, and warmth. I took a picture of this statue in Japan. It's well known for being one of the oldest in the world. Along the lines of Illuci's serendipity theme, I realized while I was going through the photo that the certain angle and lighting made it look like she had white streak down her cheek, looking like she was crying. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are only two ways to live your life. Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsYes, and she has reason to cry very often, being associated with care and warmth. The serendipitous "tear" but also the angle and noise and what looks like rain streaks... Wonderful! 10 Feb 2008 11:27pm @amy: They are rain streaks. :) It was miserable and raining that day. |
