our hidden postsPosted by e. (New York, NY, United States) on 7 December 2007 in Architecture and Portfolio. Who are the hidden supporters who have guided you in your life? This post is part of the stairs I took a picture of yesterday. When I look at it, at the rust, the paint peeling, at how old it is, it makes me think about how strong it looks at the same time. Wasn't there a time in your life when there were people who seemed immortal? Who were so strong and so determined and so full of life that it was almost as if nothing would ever break them? And I also think about those people who have stood by in the shadows and watched you grow. The teachers who are now long forgotten, friends who have vanished from your lives over the years. Posts are rarely noticed unless they're beautiful. People only concentrate on the steps in front of them. Take a moment, think back to those people and thank them. We would not be who we are today if not for the people who have graced our lives. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. - Albert Einstein Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. - Shawshank Redemption

And a really marvellous image to accompany it. May the difference that others continue to make in our lives, and the difference that we too make in the lives of others, be for good, not evil. 8 Dec 2007 4:04pm Illuci from Hurdegaryp, NetherlandsWhat a nice words! If I look back then I see very few people like you described, this was caused by the typical after-war situation, there was only achievement of high grades that counted, there was no interest in childrens' personality. If you didn't manage to get high gradings they simply dropped you. It makes one strong, that's the advantage. What an awsome beauty in this picture, post and plant match very well! I would have made the picture a little bit darker for more brillance. 11 Dec 2007 9:28pm |
