hunger strike

On Wednesday, October 17, the 14th Dalai Lama was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in honor of his efforts for peace, nonviolence, and universal acceptance. Go here to start at the beginning.

Last photo of the series! Wow it was long. This is kind of unrelated, but as we were walking after all the speeches were over to the metro, I saw him and thought it was rather interesting. A peaceful protester outside an event honoring a peace advocate. In any case, he must have been starving, but he looked stalwart in his convictions.

thanks for sharing,e.,i do admire him for his ideals and determination to make himself heard, but sometimes i wonder if the world really cares whether he is starving.I find our world a bit too cruel.
