for comfort's sakePosted by e. (New York, NY, United States) on 24 October 2007 in People & Portrait. On Wednesday, October 17, the 14th Dalai Lama was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in honor of his efforts for peace, nonviolence, and universal acceptance. The next few photos will be of that event. Go here to start at the beginning. This little girl was trying to move the pillow to where she was sitting, but it took her a little while to actually pick it up because her hands were too small to actually get a good grip on it. We were out there for a while, so a lot of people had brought blankets, food, water, umbrellas (for the hot sun), and pillows to make the wait a little easier. As a side note, in a brilliant move on my part, I brought absolutely none of those. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are only two ways to live your life. Fantastic capture, love the colours and sense of mid-motion here, can really visualize this little one having a “go” at the cushion time after time to get it right….absolutely endearing!!! i really feeling like running out to give her a warm cuddle :) 24 Oct 2007 7:47pm Richard_Irwin from Belper, United KingdomReally nice portrait. If anything, I'd have made the image squarer, and cropped out the post at the top, but you have got some wonderful candid portraits from this event. 24 Oct 2007 8:42pm @Richard_Irwin: Thanks for the advice! I edited the photo per your instructions in my actual portfolio. MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomThe look of determination on her little face is wonderful, beautiful photos over the last two days e :) 24 Oct 2007 9:05pm |
