for comfort's sake

On Wednesday, October 17, the 14th Dalai Lama was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in honor of his efforts for peace, nonviolence, and universal acceptance. The next few photos will be of that event. Go here to start at the beginning.

This little girl was trying to move the pillow to where she was sitting, but it took her a little while to actually pick it up because her hands were too small to actually get a good grip on it. We were out there for a while, so a lot of people had brought blankets, food, water, umbrellas (for the hot sun), and pillows to make the wait a little easier. As a side note, in a brilliant move on my part, I brought absolutely none of those.

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. - Albert Einstein

Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies. - Shawshank Redemption

We walk through our lives so focused on our daily tasks and griefs. It's important to realize that there is always hope, because without fail, there will always be a touch of color - in a hazy shade of winter.
